All of the information supplied here is to let you know about upcoming opportunities, and to provide information needed for the 25/26 school year for you to access when you are ready to do so! We are not rushing summer!
SPECIAL NOTES:
- New items have been added to future Summer Updates. Scroll through and search for items marked with NEW to quickly identify the additions. (ctrl+F NEW will help you locate those items quickly).
- All items in RED font are links for you to click on that will take you to the information listed.
BOOK END Project:
- The little house beside the upper school campus is being transformed into a library and student center.
- Help needed! There are lots of opportunities for any parent and students (aged 13+) to participate.
- We are encouraged by the offers of help in answer to our 7/14 email. If you missed the email and would like more info, just ask the office!
ARCHER CREW at lower school campus:
Parents, so many of you indicate that you would love to volunteer and we are so grateful. Please click on the link below for short weekly opportunities to serve and engage with others.
SCHOOL CLEAN UP DAY: NEW DATE – Saturday, 8/2!
- To accommodate renovations at the lower school campus, we are moving the school clean up back a week to August 2nd.
- 8:00 – noon. Feel free to come and go as you are able.
- Pizza lunch will be served.
- Meet at the lower school campus. (We will send a crew to upper school from there.)
- We need to limit the inside help at lower campus to 5 adults. (No children inside.)
- Please SIGN UP HERE if you and your family are able to help us.
STUDENT PACKETS:
These packets are provided to help you take care of tasks through the summer to prepare for 25/26 School Year.
Library Days and Hours:
- Week of July 28: T/W/Th 9:00 – noon
- Week of Aug 4: closed
YEARBOOKS: We have a few extra copies of the yearbook.
- $40 cash only
- We will sell on a first-come-first-serve basis (cash in hand). We will not reserve copies.
- Available for purchase during library hours only.
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Bradford Library: Lower school summer library and upper school required reading are all available at the lower school Bradford library. See the dates and times above.
- Tuesday Soccer Nights: This is for everyone aged middle school and above- parents, alumni are all welcome!
- 7:00-8:30 pm at the MACC baseball fields (weather-permitting.)
- Walker field (2nd St / Lee St.) is plan B if MACC fields are too wet or otherwise occupied.
- It is a loosely organized way for kids to come together and play pick-up soccer. We won’t be sending emails each week. If it is raining hard or stormy, please use your best judgment.
- Weight Room: Brand new opportunity!
- Students in rising 7th – 12th grades. Come with a friend! (Students may not work out alone.)
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
- Attire: appropriate athletic clothing and closed toe shoes.
- Supervision provided by Coach Johnston
- Summer Training Schedule: Designed for Cross Country but any athlete who wants to increase their fitness are encouraged to follow the schedule.
SUMMER READING:
Here is the Bradford Library Catalog for you to peruse. Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress.
- Books can be checked out from the lower school (939 S Third St.) during library hours.
- Parents, we have a shelf of books just for you!
- 1st – 5th grades: Students can earn points for their house by reading up to 10 books from our Summer Reading list!
- 6th – 11th grades REQUIRED Summer Reading Lists – There are too many wonderful books to squeeze in during the school year, so we have a list of books for students to read during the summer that will be utilized in discussions and papers throughout the school year.
- 12th grade: REQUIRED reading for Senior Thesis
25/26 CALENDAR:
- Subscribe to the calendar! Major events (i.e. first day of school, fall break, etc) have been added to the calendar, as well as school programs and house socials. Please take a look!

- NEW DATE Sat, 8/2: School clean up day
- NEW DATE Week of Aug 4th: Fall sports begin
- Thurs, 8/7: Archer Night at Upper School (5th – 12th)
- NEW Fri, 8/8: Alumni Soccer scrimmages, girls and boys, 7:00 at the MACC
- Mon, 8/11: Archer Night at Lower School (K – 4th) and Uniform Rummage Sale
- Tues, 8/12: First day of school: 5th – 12th grades
- Wed, 8/13: First day of school: K – 4th grades – NOON DISMISSAL for K – 4th grades!
- Thurs, 8/14: Archer Night for TK
- Tues, 8/19: First day of school: TK
IMMUNIZATIONS:
All Kindergarten, 7th, and 12th grade students are required by NC state law to receive immunizations and provide updated reports to the school by the first day of school. Please review the information here to make sure you get all that is needed. Medical and religious exemptions are permitted. Please upload them to TADS, email them to office@bradfordacademy.org, or bring them directly to the office.

UNIFORMS:
Now is the time to place your orders for the 25/ 26 school year!
- Access Uniform Guides and a “How-to” guide for placing a uniform order on our website under the Parent tab here. Remember, all clothing items* MUST be purchased from French Toast**!
*Socks, belt, and shoes may be purchased at a retailer of your choice.
**Select Upper school dress uniform pieces are from Schoolbelles.
AFTERSCHOOL CARE:
Moms’ Helper and Bradford Plus are services provided to parents for both planned and unplanned circumstances. Sometimes meetings run long, traffic backs up, emergencies arise…whatever the situation, you can be confident your child will be safe and supervised.
- Moms’ Helper provides care for Transitional Kindergarten students from 12:00 – 2:45.
- Bradford Plus provides care for all students from 3:00 – 5:45.
- Please review the Policies and Procedures here.
- REGISTRATION FORM: We ask that all parents complete this form for each student, even if you do not plan to use afterschool care. Sometimes unexpected circumstances arise and we want to be prepared to provide the best care for your child.
ARCHER ATHLETICS:

- NEW Read the Bradford Academy 2025 – 2026 Athletics Update letter HERE.
- Athletic Polo: this is a special shirt reserved for athletes to wear on game days that occur Mon – Thurs. Red or black. (Dress uniforms will be worn on Fridays even if there is a game.)

AUG 7: Upper School Archer Night
- Upper School Campus, 301 S. Third St.
- Students: wear Bradford polo with logo
- 6:30: 5th and new students (grades 5th – 10th) orientation, visit classrooms, and meet teachers
- 7:30: 6th – 12th grader (returning students) orientation, visit classrooms, and meet teachers
- *NEW: We have moved 6th grade returning students to the 7:30 time slot*
AUG 11: Lower School Archer Night and Used Uniform Rummage Sale
- K – 4th students
- Lower School Campus, 939 S. Third St.
- Students: wear Bradford polo with logo
- Appointments will be offered for 5:30, 6:00, 6:30pm – Sign up HERE.
- All will meet with Mr. Johnston, then meet the teachers and visit classrooms
- Used Uniform Rummage Sale: 5:00 – 7:00. For any parent. No sign up required.
AUG 12: 5th – 12th Grade FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
- Wear dress uniform
- 7:30 am earliest drop off time
- 3:00 pm pick up

AUG 13 : K – 4th Grade FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
