High School at Bradford Academy

Nurturing Wisdom

Bradford Academy’s high school is an exciting and expanding project. We believe that all learning can be divided into three parts: knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Accordingly, the focus of our high school is wisdom. Our classes expand and deepen the students’ knowledge and understanding. However, the ultimate goal is the wise implementation and application of their learning. We want our students to be independent and creative thinkers. We want them to be WISE.

Engaging Ideas and Experiences

The classes are rich and varied. In a day, students may begin in songs and prayer then move right into science to study genetic traits in fruit fly populations.

In their humanities courses, the students read broadly. They don’t just learn about the “great ideas,” they actually read source material. For example, as the students learn about politics they dive into the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and even read opposing works like Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto. Equally important, the students engage in lively discussion and debate. These conversations test and challenge their ideas. Most importantly, all of this is done within a Christian worldview with the Bible as the ultimate standard.

Developing Appreciation

As the students engage in the arts, they develop an appreciation for beauty and the great works of Western Civilization.  This appreciation is nurtured into creative practices and the development of skills.

Also, in keeping with Bradford’s commitment to develop the whole person, our students participate in the development of the body in Physical Education classes and extracurricular athletics.

High school students running well for the glory of God!

As a result, our robust curriculum is nurturing high school students into exceptional young men and women.  Bradford students are learning to think well, reason and speak passionately, and work hard. The program includes unique classes like Formal Symbolic Logic, Apologetics, Rhetoric, and the twelfth grade capstone Senior Thesis. In fact, all these classes are working together to provide an outstanding educational opportunity! It is an education that prepares students well for the rigors of college. Furthermore, it prepares them for the challenges of leadership, and a life well lived for the glory of God!
