FROM THE OFFICE

Our Midsummer Update contains pertinent information for the beginning of the new school year.  Please review the information carefully and send any questions you have to office@bradfordacademy.org.  We trust these summer weeks are a true respite for your family.

Of importance:
  • Order uniforms now (if you haven’t done so already)!  Shipping is never fast, so time is required to process and receive the orders.  There are some delays on certain items that our supplier is working to restock.  Feel free to reach out to the office if you run into any problems.  I am happy to help.
  • PE: K – 5th grades – They will not be changing into a PE uniform again this year, but we do ask that they have a pair of the black PE shorts for our special events (soccer tournament, Greek Olympics, field day, etc.).  We recommend that their everyday school shoe is a black athletic shoe that would be great for PE and active recesses.  (They should have a dress shoe for dress uniform days.)
  • Required Summer Reading:  6th – 12th grades – Please return books as soon as you finish with them so classmates can check them out.
  • Summer Reading for House points!  1st – 5th grades – Please visit our library to check out books to help your house win!
  • Immunization updates needed!  Students in Kindergarten, 7th, and 12th grades must submit an updated immunization record by the first day of school.
  • Ongoing opportunities this summer:
    • Tuesdays,  6:30-9pm:  Pick up soccer at the MACC
    • Wednesdays, 9-10am:  Cross Country Runs – any Athletes in 6th – 12th grades can run at the main campus

  • Please note these two additions to the calendar:
    • 22/23 TESTING DATES:  First week of May for 1st – 7th grades.  Please do not plan a vacation or doctors’ appointments during this week.
    • Teacher Workday:  Friday, May 12th

JUL 30:  Work day, 8am – noon, Pizza lunch served – All families welcome to help us clean classrooms, spread mulch, prep playground, clean up cross country trails, etc.

AUG 4:  Upper School Archer Night

  • (Previously known as Open House)
  • At Downtown Campus (DTC)
  • 6:30:  6th graders and new students
  • 7:00:  Meet our new Upper School Dean and Mr. Johnston
  • 7:30:  
  • 6th graders and new students visit classrooms and meet teachers
  • 7th – 12th grader (returning students) – Meet our new Upper School Dean and Mr. Johnston
  • 8:00:  7th – 12th graders (returning students) visit classrooms

AUG 5:  New Student Drop-In

  • 12:00 – 1:30 – Lower School Drop-In:  for new students in K – 5th grades.  Sign up HERE.
  • 12:00 – 2:00 – Upper School Drop-In: for new students in 6th – 12th grades. Sign up HERE.

AUG 8:  Lower School Archer Night

  • (Previously known as Open House)
  • At Main Campus (MC)
  • Appointments will be offered for 5:30, 6:00, 6:30pm – Sign up HERE.
  • All will meet with Mr. Johnston, then meet the teachers and visit classrooms

AUG 9:  Upper School FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

  • Wear dress uniform
  • 7:30 earliest drop off time

AUG 10:  Lower School FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

  • Wear dress uniform
  • 7:40 earliest drop off time
  • 9:00 – Kindergarten
    • Parents of kindergarten students  will drop off in the car line, then may park and come enjoy donuts and coffee.
  • NOON DISMISSAL!!

AUG 11:  Transitional Kindergarten Archer Night

  • (Previously known as Orientation)
  • 6:00 pm
  • Main Campus

AUG 16:  Transitional Kindergarten FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 

  • 7:40 earliest drop off time
