A Word from our Headmaster

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”
Romans 11:36

In 2004, I sat in the living room of a dear friend with several parents, all with small children.  The reason for that gathering was to discuss the possibility of starting a Christian and classical school in Mebane.  At that time I had worked in the field of education for about twelve years and had become convinced of several things. I came to believe that the average child was not being challenged or achieving to his potential.  Furthermore, I was sure that the learning that was happening was generally devoid of real meaning.  By that I mean that the deep enduring realities of life were not typically part of our modern education.  We weren’t asking or answering the big question: Who am I? Why am I here?  What’s wrong with the world and how do we fix it?  What is true?  What is good?  What is beautiful? These questions formed the backbone of education in the past, but have been replaced by the more pragmatic, “How do I pass the test?”

At that meeting and in those that followed we came to a unanimous opinion.  We wanted two things for our children:  a better education for the next generation and one that was built upon the foundation of scripture and dedicated to the glory of Christ.  For the next few years we met for prayer, discussion, and planning.  Bradford Academy was launched in the fall of 2008 with a dream to build a complete kindergarten through 12th grade college preparatory school.  We have joined the ranks of a growing number of serious Christian families who are engaged in a 21st century renaissance.

We are still a very young school, but already we see the fruit of a rigorous Christian and classical approach to education.  I would like to invite you to browse the website and learn more about our vision for meaningful Christian scholarship here in Mebane.  Also, don’t forget to browse our gallery of photos on our facebook page.  We are thankful for God’s evident blessing upon our labors.  We hope you will join us!

Peace and Grace,
